-ne But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. The word UNCTION simply means ANOINTING. Today, we are preached at daily by the Television, mostly from adverts, but a lot from the News Channels, or current affairs programmes, and a lot of what is preached to us by them, is used by well meaning Christians, to give advice to other Christians. This is a practice that needs to stop. I have often informed my congregation, not to pass on the wisdom of the world, which at times sounds very convincing, but we need to understand that we have an unction from the Holy One, and that we have all knowledge. There is a strange thing that I have seen even in the fundamentalist circles: it is preaching without unction. Preaching without unction kills instead of giving life. The Word does not live unless the unction is upon the preacher. Preacher, with all thy getting, get unction. Unction is not a gentle dove beating her wings against the bars outside of the preacher’s soul; Unction cannot be learned, only earned by prayer. Unction is God’s knighthood for the soldier-preacher who has wrestled in prayer and gained the victory. Unction comes not by the medium of the bishop’s hands, neither does it mildew when the preacher is cast into prison. When the hammer of logic and the fire of human zeal fail to open the stony heart, unction will succeed. Away with palsied, powerless preaching which is unmoving because it was born in a tomb instead of a womb and nourished in a fireless, prayer less soul. With all thy getting, get unction, lest barren altars be the badge of our unctionless intellectualism. – Leonard Ravenhill.WE NEED UNCTION IN OUR FUNCTION!Loving Father, help me by the power of the Holy Spirit, to trust you more.
Fortunately the birds so far were of the sort that are easily identified at 75 mph.The cattle pastures and fields of the panhandle appropriately supported flocks of Cattle Egrets, those wildly successful immigrants who have to be respected for making their own way across the Atlantic, ships be damned! We pulled into a hotel in Tallahassee, nothing more than a stopover on the long drive down the peninsula we’d take the next day.

-ne Front paged at Booman TribuneWe’ve seen the following scenario more than a few times before: a proposed massive tax cut is proposed – Democrats in Congress are pushing to get a bill that takes care of this, and as promised last year, don’t want to add another 0 billion to the deficit so they want to offset this cut with other increases on a select group of very high earners who are already getting an unfair tax advantage elsewhere. and therefore either want to add another 0 billion to the deficit or give these millions of families a tax hike, while preserving the unfair tax cuts to their favored constituents. Democrats are being blamed for not getting something done quicker, and as a result, even if something is passed, 38 million people will now have delays in getting their refund early next year.Of course, I am talking about the AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) bills that are kicking around Congress now. Yet, instead of using the majority that he has or doing any sort of public awareness of the fact that republicans are doing this, Senator Reid is working to add another 0 billion to the deficit while promising to extend other tax cuts with appropriate spending cuts elsewhere. And the party line is that something has to and will get done but at this point it looks like Bushie tax cuts will be extended as well, with cuts to programs that republicans will be amenable to (read: stuff that impacts We the People).Either way, millions of people are going to be screwed, and a golden opportunity to lay this at the feet of those who are responsible for this debacle (and at the same time irresponsible with the country’s money) is getting missed.

Everyone has a favourite myth about hair care, and we usually never let the truth get in the way of a good legend! Excessive washing of hair causes hair loss/drynessFALSE: Frequency of washing doesn’t harm hair. Blow-drying can damage, burn or dry hair, which can cause it to fall, but the hair will grow back immediately. Sleeping with wet hair causes scalp fungusFALSE. Sharing combs and brushes can spread scalp diseasesTRUE.Lice and other parasites can be transported from scalp to scalp through the sharing of combs, brushes and other hair care tools.8. This common misconception comes from the fact that hair is thicker at the base than it is at the tip, so shorter hair appears thicker at first. Plump up your hair by using volume enhancing hair care products, experimenting with a hair fattening blunt cut or getting a texturizing perm or color treatment.9. Most hair coloring products contain chemicals that can do serious harm to the hair itself if not properly used, but it wont instigate hair loss.10. The scalp usually recuperates, though, and hair grows back14. Even worse, smoking has been conclusively linked to accelerated hair loss.SUMMARYHeard another myth about hair?

We covered the 400 kms in relatively short time, the road being, as usual, dead straight for most of the way, and with few other vehicles on the road we reached Broome just after noon.We had always planned that Broome would be our next major stop on the road to Perth and we intended to stay about 10 days. And of course it was time for some serious relaxing on Broome’s famous Cable Beach.Broome was originally established in the late 19th century as a centre for pearl divers who operated in the rich oyster beds in the area. In recent years Broome’s warm winter climate and beautiful beach bordering the resplendent Indian Ocean have resulted in the small city becoming a major tourist destination in the winter months. So we unpacked and then headed off to the supermarket to stock up on groceries. Our park was just across the road from Cable Beach so after our shopping expedition, we walked down to an access path through the dunes and on to the famed stretch of sand. Cable Beach is named for Australia’s first international telegraph cable that was run from here to Java in Indonesia. The golden beaches in Queensland had been wonderful but this beach, like all west coast beaches, is white sand and the water is crystal clear and the most brilliant blue The beach sloped gently down to the sea where small waves broke on the sand, leaving a sheen reflecting the azure sky as the water retreated from the almost-flat sand. Most of the time there is ample room for thousands of sun bathers that flock to the beach in the high season, but now it seemed almost deserted as a couple of dozen shade umbrellas dotted the immediate vicinity with less than 100 people scattered around the beach. We set down our towel and started in for our first swim in the Indian Ocean. After frolicking about in the waves for a while, we took a long walk north along the beach which stretched as far as we could see. I must say, the camels do present a fine sight as they plod along the sand in the glow of the setting sun.The sunsets over the sea are stunning and most days we are on the beach or on the short esplanade on the dunes backing the sand to watch the sun melt into the ocean. But at least we had an air conditioned roof over our heads for our last three nights! We soon got into a pretty laid back routine in Broome, pottering around the town and lazing on the beach. Here’s her account of the trip…..Pearling is a major aspect of the history of Broome, and pearls being fascinating anyway, I thought it would be worthwhile to delve into this a little more so signed up for the tour to the Willie Creek Pearl Farm. By the 1950’s due to the invention of plastic, the demand for mother of pearl for buttons had plummeted, but by then a Japanese fellow was perfecting a method of growing cultured pearls, and set up a business here. Part of the tour included a detailed technical session about how the pearls are seeded with a bead, an intricate procedure requiring the motor skills of a neurosurgeon it would seem, and an explanation of the different kinds of pearls that are cultured here. Finally, with fingers crossed, the technicians examine the oysters and if all has gone according to plan, a beautiful large, lustrous, round pearl is the result. After a very nice afternoon tea (no tour is complete without tea here, and this was the best yet, real coffee (instant is the norm) and delicious apricot damper bread), we were taken out on a boat to see the longlines where the frames are hung and have a demonstration of the cleaning, as well as a nice little boat ride around the creek. There are several of these in Australia and the one here in Broome, the oldest in the country, is in the middle of China Town, the main shopping area in Broome. We have seen prettier beaches in small tropical coves ringed by palm trees, as far as a long stretch of white sand, Cable Beach ranks right up there. Our car on a deserted stretch of Cable beach taken from a distance with a closer picture following.Taking a camel ride down the beach is one of the famous attractions here Sunset is the best time to take a camel ride along the beach. There were some great rock formations at the south end of Cable Beach. You can drive along the beach for miles. Here we are at the south end of Cable Beach near the lighthouse and rock formations. The earth around Broome is a stunning burnt red color as evidenced by this road construction area. Everyone drives a 4WD with a large roo bar on the front, but you can also get a latte at a street side cafe in the shae of the palms.Rob and friend…a statue of a pearl diver from years pastSue took a trip to see the modern pearl farm in operation. It was 4WD access so she joined a tour which took her north of Broome for a tour of the pearl operations, including a boat trip out to the oyster beds. The road north to the pearl farm shows a typical dirt road in the Broome region. There were spectacular sunsets on the beach each night…here are a few pics…

But if you took your rose colored glasses off and watched the play closely, Ryan hit Simon from the side as he played the puck. Ort is a third line energy player who plays the game the right way. Ort does play physical but never cheapshots anyone. He hustles all over the ice and is a valuable penalty killer, playing his role well. Sadly, sometimes that’s called a penalty in this new wussy NHL which makes it very difficult for defenders to legally play against players in front. You want to complain about how Sean Avery plays the game, go right ahead. He’s a pest and drives the opposition nuts, playing the game on the edge and frequently opening up his big mouth (even more than Slick Rick). But he does play hard never taking a shift off and was badly needed on a roster that was way too soft. Teams need those kind of players.
As the Senate considers another emergency supplemental appropriations bill to fund the occupation of Iraq, U.S. Senator Russ Feingold, D-Wisconsin, has proposed an an amendment that would require the redeployment of U.S. forces from the country by the end of this year. Our country desperately needs a new vision for strengthening our national security, and it starts by redeploying U.S. forces from Iraq, Feingold explained. While this amendment recognizes the need for certain U.S. forces to be engaged in counter-terrorism activities, the training of Iraqi security services, and the protection of essential U.S. infrastructure, it also recognizes that the Presidents current strategy in Iraq is undermining our nations national security.

It was enraging, sure, but I never felt in danger to the point where I actually would have pulled a can of bear mace on them (especially considering the high percentage of concealed weapon permits in this area.)However, it did think it strange that they were so old - they looked to be in their late-20s or early-30s, definitely old enough to know about the legal implications of terrorizing an unarmed cyclist. I feel like I’m moving up in the world.I think the Soggy Bottom is going to be a great ride, and will happen at a point in the summer when I hope to be at my strongest. It bills itself as the longest summer backcountry bicycle ride in Alaska (as opposed to winter, where the Iditarod Invitational has it beat by about 1,000 miles.) But the wheels are turning, plans are materializing, and it’s definitely time to get my summer training started.

The reason is farm output growth can be broadly shared, a Poverty and Human Development Report issued by REPOA indicates.Unfortunately, agricultural production has not improved substantially for both food and cash crops, the report notes.’’Similarly, productivity has remained low, especially among smallholder farmers who constitute the majority of agricultural producers in Tanzania and the quality of export crops has remained low relative to export crops produced by neighbouring countries,’’ the report laments.A combination of low production, low productivity, and low quality of agricultural produce has significant limiting effects on rural growth and therefore on poverty reduction.Furthermore, significant poverty reduction in Tanzania will depend on higher growth rates in the rural economy, particularly in the agricultural sector, is says. The report suggests that the promotion of integrated production schemes should be considered as a promising strategy and these should involve co-ordinated access to improved inputs, extension services, and transportation, processing and marketing.’’The promotion of integrated schemes of production involving access to inputs, technology and extension services, transport, processing and marketing should increase rural growth by ensuring the increased output and improved quality of products.’’ The report indicates. The report proposes that efforts should be directed towards understanding and eliminating the barriers to smallholders that continue to inhibit the growth of productivity. The objective is to transform the sector into one with high labour productivity and high quality outputs.Specifically, the major aims should be to increase both the quantity of production through increasing the number of hectares under cultivation and their yields and the quality of production. The report notes that the major factors contributing to the poor performance of the agricultural sector are the low level of education and literacy amongst smallholder farmers, exposure to variable weather conditions, price variations, limited investments and weak institutional arrangements. These problems justify the consideration of involving smallholders in co-ordinated and integrated approach to production, including the establishment of out-grower schemes.Crop production is the main activity for about 50 per cent of the smallholder households. The majority of crop growing households consume what they produce, yet 70 per cent also sell some portion of their produce. There are very low levels of processing and storage of crops beyond the household level.Elaborating on tea, sisal, coffee, and tobacco production, it says that the production of tea, tobacco, sisal, and coffee has fluctuated at around 50 million tons per year, while paddy, beans/ pulses, and millet/sorghum has fluctuated at around half a million tons per year.Maize and cassava production has been on an upward trend since 2001, at the same time the production of cotton, cashews and sugar cane has recorded significant jumps, with sugar cane production increasing significantly since 2001.This is due to the privatisation of sugar cane estates and the adoption of the out- grower model of production, which began in early 2000.The details show that tea yields from smallholders have been also consistently lower than from estates since the mid 1970’s to 2005, with productivity of tea estates increasing during the mid to late 1990’s, while that of smallholders plummeted. This is also the case for other crops with production of maize by smallholders (2002/03) being 0.73 tonnes/hectare and of sorghum 0.43 tons/hectare which compares poorly with production by large farmers of 4.0 tons/hectare of maize and 2.7 tons/hectare of sorghum.Currently Tanzania’s agriculture is driven mainly by smallholder producers and there has been low increases in agriculture production and insufficient improvements in quality. There are 4.8 million smallholders cultivating about 44 million hectares in Tanzania, and 31 per cent of the heads of the households have no education, while 63 percent have some level of primary education, though only 20 per cent have completed Standard Four.

Knowing we’ve not only crossed the finish line, but have also helped people trapped in poverty is what makes finishing so good,” says Ms Walker. The Advanced Dynamics people trained for three months and were four of 756 participants in 187 teams at Taupo, with more than 700 support crew and 200 race volunteers cheering them on.Oxfam says participants came from all walks of Kiwi life, including 10 mums, two hairdressers, 27 engineers, 23 teachers, 13 managers, 10 firemen and four postmen.“In the 36 hours it takes to complete the Trailwalker challenge, 43,200 children will have died because of poverty,” says Oxfam NZ executive director Barry Coates.

Array Richard BeckettComparison of Rapists and Sexual Murderers on Demographic and Selected Psychometric MeasuresInternational Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology Volume:51 Issue:3 Dated:June 2007 Pages:298 to 312This comparison of 58 sexual murderers and 112 rapists who were about to undergo treatment in prison focused on characteristics of background, personality, offense, and victim. The study found that sexual murderers were less likely than rapists to have been in an intimate relationship prior to their offense, which might support previous findings that sexual murderers are more socially isolated than rapists. Brittain’s profile of the sadistic sexual murderer, however, does not fit all sexual murderers. RichardsDiagnostic and Risk Profiles Among Civilly Committed Sex Offenders in Washington StateInternational Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology Volume:51 Issue:3 Dated:June 2007 Pages:313 to 323This study obtained data on 190 civilly committed and detained sexually violent predators in Washington State, who had completed their prison sentences but were deemed too dangerous to release into the community.
People came from far and wide for fish and chips, swordfish, sole, crevettes, scampi mussels, and of course, our local delicacy - Sussex smokey pie. They order fish and chips without chips, fish and chips without fish, scampi salad with no salad, and everything possible to try and catch Cheffie out!

=====================The New York Times (USA)Wednesday 8 August 2007 7:56 pmQuestions About Romney’sSons and Military Serviceby Michael LuoCEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — It is a question that Mitt Romney has gotten before on the campaign trail. sometimes with a clear edge.A woman at an Ask Mitt Anything forum earlier today in Iowa raised the question again, asking whether any of Mr. Romney’s five sons are serving in the military, adding pointedly, “If none of them are, how do they plan to support this war on terrorism by enlisting in our U.S. military?”Although his campaign said his remarks were taken out of context, Mr. Romney’s response is drawing criticism, because he said, in part, “one of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected.”Mr. Romney expressed appreciation for the country’s “volunteer army” and said “that’s the way we’re going to keep it. He explained his sons had madedifferent career choices in life and had not chosen to serve in the military but he mentioned a niece whose husband he said had just been called up by the National Guard. He added that he respects and values “very highly those who make a decision to serve in the military” and referenced the “surge of support” for members of the Armed Services he recently called for on the campaign trail. And I respect that and respect all of those in the way they serve this great country.”The Romney sons are each working in various capacities on the campaign. He set foot in Jasper, his 99th county, today.Driving from Des Moines to Cedar Rapids today to meet up with their parents for the final Ask Mitt Anything forum of the day, Tagg and Josh said their father’s remarks needed to be considered in context. They expressed respect for those who had served in the military and said they had simply chosen different routes in life. “The military is a voluntary thing,” said Tagg Romney, one of three Romney sons who graduated from Harvard Business School. “My dad’s made a big point of trying to support the troops,” he said, adding military service is “just something none of us have done.”But when asked whether they thought the question was unfair, Tagg Romney said, “there’s no such thing as an unfair question in politics.” - 30 - 58 comments so far… Wade” If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern… I promise more “effective leadership” than Kennedy on winning full equality for gays and lesbians… and I oppose a federal constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and I support gays serving openly in the military. a snowman is not “In a Planned Parenthood questionnaire he filled out during his 2002 gubernatorial run, Romney checked ‘yes’ to a question asking, “Do you support the teaching of responsible, age-appropriate, factually accurate health and sexuality education, including information about both abstinence and contraception, in public schools” answer resurfaced in 2005 ,when pro choice groups Romney was criticized Romney when he began to push an abstinence-heavy focus on sex education. “He told Planned Parenthood at their conference yesterday that “it’s the right thing to do to provide age-appropriate sex education, science-based sex education in schools.” “Governor Mitt Romney expressed support yesterday for President Bush’s approach and warned that a premature withdrawal of American troops would inspire terrorists worldwide’—Aug. 2005 “Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney said Saturday he is willing to “change course in Iraq”– as some Republican senators have now done– and is keeping an eye on the recent troop surge there. August 8th, 2007 10:15 pm The idea that a presidential candidate becomes qualified is his children serve in the military is absolutely absurd. Romney obviously made a mistake in saying that his sons are serving by helping his campaign. August 8th, 2007 10:30 pm Five sons and non served or serves in the military? They all suck because none of their kids are in the military, nor did any of them serve themselves. It’s a volunteer military, and the fact is very few Americans choose to serve, and those who do tend to come from military families. To suggest you have to have served in the military to run for president is pure nonsense. His sons are serving the country by working in Iowa to help him get elected? For heavens sake–conflating his son driving to 99 counties in Iowa in an RV in order to make this nitwit our next president–with the sacrifice tens of thousands of young American men and women are making to serve this nation and our nitwit current president? August 8th, 2007 11:14 pm John McCain has a young son serving in the Marine Corps. On the topic of his sons, they are serving this country by participating in the political process and supporting their father. August 9th, 2007 12:09 am Does that mean all who are not supporting Mitt Romney to get him elected are not serving the nation ?An absurd illogical argument to come out of a tight corner. August 9th, 2007 12:11 am It is nothing short of hypocritical for politicians to support a war, send other people’s sons and daughters to be killed and their own children do not serve. Although it is an all volunteer military, the fact that Romney’s son is not serving tells a lot about their priorites. Any politcian who votes for a war should be forced by law to send his/her own sons and daughters to serve. August 9th, 2007 12:45 am Ok, let’s do what this thread is assuming….eliminate all candidates who haven’t served in the military themselves, nor have children in the military. None of them have served in the military, and none of the have children who have served in the military. August 9th, 2007 2:40 am This guy just compared his son’s part-time work to serving in the military? August 9th, 2007 4:28 am Mitt Romney interrupted college after one year to serve voluntarily as a 19 year old missionary in France for 2 1/2 years. August 9th, 2007 5:43 am Has anyone ask Chaelse Clinton or Edwards daughter why they never served in the military. August 9th, 2007 6:43 am It would be more scary if Romney had complete control of his kids to the point that they can’t make their own choice in regards to military service. August 9th, 2007 7:26 am Baloney….rich men’s sons are above serving in the military. I’m a Republican and Romney lost my vote primaily due to him steering his sons away from what so many of us have done in our lives and that’s a couple of years serving our country. August 9th, 2007 7:55 am I am disheartened to read the captious remarks about the Romney sons. However, when they look at the productive things the Rommey sons are accomplishing, hopefully it will become clear that if choosing not to serve in the military is the worst thing they have done, how fortunate the Romney family is. August 9th, 2007 8:04 am How many Republicans serving in Congress or the Senate have sons or daughters serving in the military? Remember how George Bush (son) served - worked in an election for a candidate in Alabama that LOST! However, his father did serve and served well! August 9th, 2007 8:22 am The Romneys also think they’re doing America a great favor by concentrating wealth. I told my son not to join, because I did not serve for 20 years for him to have to serve and he still joined because he believes in the American way of life and values. When President Clinton was running for office not too many persons seem to make that big of a deal out of the fact that he didn’t even serve in the military. If you truly want to pick apart the things that Mitt Romney and his sons have decided to do because no where in the Constitution does it make it mandatory for everyone to serve in the military before running for President or any office, then you should start with President Clinton. August 9th, 2007 9:09 am every citizen and those who want to be should be required to serve two years in the military and be on reserve for twenty more; One poster talked about his “contempt” for Romney for “steering away” his sons from military service. Does he have some inside scoop on the Romney boys, i.e., they wanted to serve and Mitt “steered” them away? I did not feel it was my only option and that I was joining because of an “economic draft.” I thought I would serve my country, but sometimes I have second thoughts when I read comments by self-righteous, hypocritical people with too much time on their hands to do anything besides criticize all the day long. August 9th, 2007 9:59 am The point is not that military service or a person’s children’s military service is necessary to become president. August 9th, 2007 10:13 am You know, I’m all for calling war hawks out on their ostensible support for an unpopular and questionable “war.” I also understand that asking a public figure whether his son serves in the military is a neat rhetorical ploy for poking holes through a big ego or a hot air balloon of hypocrisy. But there’s got to be a better way than asking whether a person’s son serves in the armed forces. August 9th, 2007 10:16 am Myki, the main problem is the fact that there is now a war on, and Romney supports said war. August 9th, 2007 10:33 am I am puzzled by posters’ belief that all politicians should have children serving in the military. In my book, if you aggressively support a war and then refuses to provide real support (in the form of entering the military, working to support the military etc.), you are suspect. As far as Clinton comparisons etc., my understanding is that Clinton did NOT support the Vietnam War so his lack of service is irrelevant (he wasn’t telling others to serve in a war while he himself ducked that war). Cheney and Bush DID support the Vietnam War but Cheney refused to serve while Bush hid in the National Guard to avoid being sent to Vietnam—somehow, they both believed that their lives were better or more valuable than other Americans. August 9th, 2007 10:48 am It is nonsense to suggest that a lack of military service in Romney’s family is a weakness to his presidential potential. August 9th, 2007 11:08 am The Romney Boys, served as Missionaries? He didn’t try to make some moral equivalence to serving in the military. Back on topic Military Service has never been a litmus test for me but Romney’s answer shows he is part of the elite and thus almost 180 degrees away from understanding the military persons plight. August 9th, 2007 12:00 pm It should not even be at issue if his sons serve. August 9th, 2007 12:00 pm Does Romney think his religion bleed a different color blood/ His kids should be ashamed to be referenced by him it is their decision now step up to the plate and make their own statements — Posted by PHIL * 55. August 9th, 2007 12:28 pm I wonder how many people who criticize presidential candidates and their children for no military record actually served themselves. The children of these candidates don’t serve for the same reason a lot of people don’t serve: they want two legs. August 9th, 2007 12:33 pm About Romney taking time off from college to do missionary work, and his sons doing the same — they’re Mormon, and it’s required of young males! August 9th, 2007 2:51 pm The lack of service regardless if it is military, teaching, peace corps etc is epidemic with the children of our nation’s elite. August 9th, 2007 3:14 pm —The Romney kids, like most Mormons, are expected to go on their Church missions at the same time military recruiters are normally recruiting for military recruits. —The Romney kids served even a HIGHER CALLING — their faith. —Being CIC does not require that one served and certainly does not require that you force your kids to serve. Romney served to save the Olympics and served as governor for FREE, donating his salary to charity.
“My dad’s made a big point of trying to support the troops,” he said, adding military service is “just something none of us have done.”But when asked whether they thought the question was unfair, Tagg Romney said, “there’s no such thing as an unfair question in politics.” - 30 - 58 comments so far… Wade” If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern… I promise more “effective leadership” than Kennedy on winning full equality for gays and lesbians… and I oppose a federal constitutional amendment banning gay marriage and I support gays serving openly in the military. a snowman is not “In a Planned Parenthood questionnaire he filled out during his 2002 gubernatorial run, Romney checked ‘yes’ to a question asking, “Do you support the teaching of responsible, age-appropriate, factually accurate health and sexuality education, including information about both abstinence and contraception, in public schools” answer resurfaced in 2005 ,when pro choice groups Romney was
